The Seki-Han Linear Pendant pairs the immateriality of light with the tactility of wood for a poetic expression. Originally designed in 1963 by Tobia Scarpa, Seki-Han features a pair of wooden blades surrounding a central tubular light source. The blades can be rotated to adjust the amount of light that is emitted, allowing for both symmetrical and asymmetrical distribution upwards and downwards. Using techniques from naval construction to shape the wood, Seki-Han showcases Scarpa’s mastery of design and woodworking.
