Ringelpiez, designed by Ingo Maurer and Team in 2016, is a light, flexible floor lamp built around a ring of aluminium set with LEDs. Without tools, the ring can be tilted to any angle and turned to shine up as an uplight or down as a reading light beside a sofa, an armchair or a table.
A telescopic carbon-fibre rod extends in height and slots into the base either upright or at a gentle 15-degree lean, with the cable hidden inside for a remarkably clean line. The base is a hemisphere of rough cast steel whose light grey finish recalls the surface of the moon, and a slider on the cable dims the warm light to suit the moment.
