Named for the bay that frames Rio de Janeiro, Guanabara floats a wide ceramic disc with a softly scalloped edge, like a ripple caught in clay. At its centre a metal cup in copper or gold holds the socket on show, made for a vintage-style filament bulb that casts a warm, generous glow. Designed by Maurício D’Avila for Geo Contemporary, it lends a relaxed, tropical-modern ease to dining rooms, bedrooms and covered terraces.
