Delight, designed by Frans van Nieuwenborg and Martijn Wegman in 1980, is a lamp made from little more than a square of cloth. A sheet of heat-resistant glass fabric is slipped over a single bulb socket, and the soft white folds it falls into become the shade, glowing gently from within.
Hung from its small fabric loop on a hook or nail, Delight drapes against the wall like a lit handkerchief; laid loosely on a bedside table or shelf, it turns into a sculptural pool of light. A white plug-in cable with a rocker switch makes it ready to use anywhere.
